Keren HaShluchim is a funding organization set to sustain the growth and expansion of Chabad-Lubavitch activities worldwide. We serve as a major financial resource to the Chabad-Lubavitch institutional network. Formed by a core of prominent Jewish philanthropists dedicated to the continuity and growth of Jewry and Jewish life, Keren HaShluchim has disbursed critical sums, supporting many Chabad-Lubavitch centers in the last decade.
Keren HaShluchim provides seed money for new shluchim whenever possible, contributing as much as $40-50,000 a year for a shliach’s first three years on shlichus. Special contributions for building dedications are made through Keren HaShluchim as well.
Before Rosh Hashana and Pesach, the fund distributes holiday stipends to shluchim who don’t have the means to put food on their tables. Keren HaShluchim also provides emergency assistance for shluchim who have been hit hard by the economic downturn or are suffering from serious illness. In addition, Keren HaShluchim is there for shluchim struggling with the high costs of caring for children with special needs.
